Red Beach School Gala Better than Ever in 2009
 15 November 2009 | 10am – 2pm | 20 Albert Hall Road, Red Beach

Get out your diary because the Red Beach School gala is coming and it’s always so much fun.  This event is always a favourite on the Hibiscus Coast and the Red Beach School community welcomes everyone along to join in the fun.

This years’ highlight is the high calibre entertainment.  The local pipe band if the opening act followed by the school’s own Kapa Haka group.  Then the Puhoi Axemens Club is putting on chopping displays at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30 and 1.30 pm so come and watch the muscles flex and the chips fly.  Dads (& ums) can even join in the fun with the axe-throwing competition.

The wonderful Times FM team will be there to host the on stage entertainment.  First on the stage at 11:00am is Captain Jelly the Pirate Stage Show with plenty of giveaways and fun for the children. Captain Jelly does incredible balloon twisting and has featured on the Good Morning show this year. At the end of the show he will finish off with a huge lolly scramble. The children will be enthralled

At 11.30am The Balzats hit the stage to wow the audience with their varied repertoire of contemporary Celtic tunes, Bluegrass pieces as well as their growing number of original compositions. This family of 9 from Albany have featured on TV and in the papers so are not to be missed.

Then from 12:00 – 12:30pm parents you are going to be able to sit in the sun with a glass of wine while the children are happily entertained elsewhere and listen to the amazing voice of Lisa Crawely. Lisa was a finalist in Stars in your Eyes and has the most beautiful soulful voice.

The talented band Wonderfish are up at 12.30 and will perform along with some “surprise guests” for much of the remaining afternoon.

There are lots of stalls with crafts, gifts and toys.  The food selection is amazing with the monster sausage sizzle, bacon buddies, chips, drinks, pies, sandwiches, lollies, drinks for starters.

There will be great rides for the children such as police car rides, meet a real fireman in his truck, vertical bungy, dunkum, mini jeeps, horse and cart, bouncy castles, train rides, giant slides, teacups and the big drop.  Plenty of excitement for young and old.

Mums, Dads and children alike will enjoy shopping at the variety of stalls which will be run by the families from Red Beach .  Along with the huge white elephant stall in the hall, there will be Xmas Cards, lolly necklaces, lucky dips, face painting, hair braiding, helium balloons and crafts.  Be there early for the ever popular cake stall and quick fire grocery raffles.

A great day out that benefits the education of all students at Red Beach School.
